Advice

Working at the luau is fun and time goes by quickly because of the show. I suggest that anyone who wants to work for the luau should be physically strong.

What I liked

I really like how my internship helped me understand the concepts I learned from my Systems Engineering class. In class , we were just focusing on one system but at work we were dealing with two systems. I've seen top managerial decisions about the systems and the necessary modifications that was added to cater to the needs of the business.

What I wish was different

Advice

Do not worry too much about deadlines if it's a project-based internship. Some modifications take time to apple and some bugs take time to fix. One thing constant is for sure, you will learn a lot of things along the way.

What I liked

I like the teamwork between co-workers and supervisor. We always try to help and encourage each other to do our job desk, accomplish goals and solve the problem that we encountered while we working. We also feel more like family and always shared happiness. I also love talking and build a relationship with the guests. Giving good experiences by providing good hospitality and make them feel welcomed to learn the Hawaiian language and played Hawaiian games.

What I wish was different

I wish that had been different was we could invite more people to come and enjoy this place by spreading the words more with the guests about Hawaiian School House and all the fun things we do.

Advice

My advice is to enjoy your work and do your best every day to make something different even though it's something small but if we keep doing it, it will be great either for ourselves, coworkers or the guests. Also always think positively when we encounter problems. Ask help if you need to and always create a good friendship with your coworkers.

What I liked

It provides me the opportunity to grow as I serve different types of guests whenever I'm on tour. It also provides me the opportunity to learn more about Polynesian culture and constantly learn something new every day about the culture.

What I wish was different

I wish more time was given for new hires that come in during summer time. That way, the new hires would feel more prepared and had more time to prepare themselves for different types of test and evaluation that they do for every new hire.

Advice

Some jobs can be quite challenging. In my case, it was tough in the beginning but it's really worth it at the end of the day. Strive to look for ways to grow .

I loved the opporunity to meet people from literally ALL OVER THE WORLD, to take them on tour and share with them the spirit of Aloha and the Polynesian Culture.

What I wish was different

There were a lot of changes during the summer time, and I feel like it would have been a better experience if we were given more training due to the changes.
